    Here’s the quick and dirty: I’m a fiction writer with publications in places like Pinch, Denver Quarterly, and The Missouri Review. I love dry lightning, peanut butter cups, and the mariachi band that plays across from my apartment each Sunday. I hate honking, slow walkers, and when people get on the elevator before I get off.

    Oh, and: I got my MFA at the University of Miami, where I now teach writing. I’m currently at work on my first novel.

Some more about me: I’ve read my work in cool venues like Books & Books (an iconic Miami bookstore) and KGB Bar (an iconic Manhattan bar). I’ve received a Miami Artist Grant and I was an Emerging Writer Fellow at the Key West Literary Seminar. I’ve received support from Breadloaf, Lighthouse LitFest, Kenyon, and Sewanee. I’ve been accepted to residencies at VCCA and the Vermont Studio Center. My short stories have been finalists for contests held by A Public Space, Northwest Review, and Carve. I was shortlisted for the First Pages Prize for my novel-in-progress.
